end of the year tests

W.A.L.T Prepare for our end of the year PAT comprehension and STAR test.

Hi and welcome back, today i'm going to be talking about the end of the year test.I don't want to start with a long intro and keep you waiting so lets start this blog.

So it's a test to show what level you're working at or a stanine,a stanine is numbers from one to nine.One is the lowest number you would get and a nine is the highest number you could get,Mrs Mclachlan  said that 2% of kids in New Zealand has got a stanine nine and no one in Hornby Primary has got a stanine one.


I wasn't here in term 1 so I didn't get a stanine but my goal is to get a stanine 6 or higher and what I will do to help my learning is to go to the library and get some books and what I will do in the test to help me is to read the sentences again if I don't understand, read all the answers before choosing.

Halloween fun

Hi guys before we start talking about my Halloween day,just to say I think this is going to be one of my favourites so lets get talking.So on Saturday I went to the Hornby Hub Mall as usual and today at 2:00PM,me and my friend Alissa went trick or treating around the Hub.
  We were first to try the cotton candy which was lucky,very lucky and I say that because we went to a big line and we made a big big BIG mistake,WE LEFT THE LINE.which turn out BAD.So anyways when we went out of the line I saw some old Wharenui School friends(Avril and Summer)plus I saw Harmony and Bella from room ten.Then we went back to the nail salon and Alissa's mum said we have to go back to the line but the line was sooo long so we grabbed my iPad but at less it was moving quickly so we went back into the line,finally we got the goodie bags and then went trick or treating around all the hub because we didn't get all the candy cause one person holds the line and the other person goes to get the candy.It was so yummy and me and Alissa were running around and jumping everywhere,we were super hype and  CRAZY!!!!

SLJ practise:learning languages

Hello everyone,

Today i'm learning how to say hello in the language of the country I am going to.We are practising this task for our summer learning journey.I'm pretending to go to England,I love to go to England in real life but me and my family are busy with work and school.England speaks English which it's not that hard to learn.My favourite part of England is Buckingham Palace because it's a big and a beautiful place to be and to take photos.Here is a picture of Buckingham Palace. 

  

first day

Last week(the start of term 4)was my first day of hornby primary school,I was so excited and also nervous but I made so much friends plus it was the best first day ever and i'm going to tell you all about it.

So when I came in my new classroom(room 11&12)it was so big,but the teachers got my name wrong on accident,they thought my name was Lucy anyways Christina and Ebony showed me around the school.Then at morning tea me and my friends did some gymnastics,we had a handstand competition and back bend walking competition and at lunch we did the same thing and I made more friends,it was so much fun on my first day.

Canterbury Swimming

Hi everyone,
Welcome back!So for 2 weeks I've been to Canterbury-Swim School and today i will tell you all about it.

 WEEK 1
On the first day of swimming i started in the little warm pool because nobody knew what level i was up to,first thing we did was some free style my teacher called it bubble and breath.3 minutes later i got moved to the deeper pool which was really cold for me and that class was in the middle of doing free style as well,then a man said that i needed to try without my board so that's what i did and then go moved again.It was so annoying just to get out and walk to the other pool,anyways this time i was doing free style without a board this time and after day of hard work we finally got out of the pool.I was so tried i couldn't even breath! 

For the whole week we did free style, it was getting a little bit boring for me but Friday and Thursday of week 1,my group did back stroke it was really fun but i keep on bumping other people in my group.


                                               WEEK 2
So for the first day of week 2 we did some free style and back stroke,it was fun being back but i think my swim teacher trying to make me tired.At the end of the lesson i learnt something new called trading water (my family calls it puppy paddle).I think my goal is look down at the bottom of the pool and then i'll go faster.

long hoildays

Hey and welcome to today's blog, i'm going to tell you all about my long weekends ,to be honest all I think they're pretty boring but you might have a different mind so lets get on with it.

                                    SATURDAY 
Saturday was good and bad,so everyday I just steer at my iPad watching YouTube all day plus i had to follow my mum to work the only good part was I got to help out a little which was nice but I had to stay for 9 hours.

                                          SUNDAY   
So on Sunday I went to Kaipoi beach and then went to the Kaipoi's city with my family,it was so so hot that we visited McDonald's to get some ice cream.After we went to the supermarket to get some food and then we got home before we had to go to someone else 
house to share lunch,the kids in the family go to Wharenui 
school(my old school) at their house we had french-frys,cake,grapes,chicken,vegetables,hamburgers and noodles

                                             MONDAY                         
It's Labour day and i'm super excited anyways so today some friends came over to play,my dad's friend hanged out with him and my friends are playing with my lego and i'm writing this for you,at less i'm watching my iPad while i'm writing.

Today I'm gonna write about everything I have learned about England and here they are.
1. England has 53.1 million people. 
2. In England, there are  9 public holidays called Bank day and also England does not celebrate a national birthday.                                           
3. England only speaks one language and that language is English (British).
4. England is a very big island which is part of the United-Kingdom and also in the United-Kingdom is Scotland in the north and Wales to the west.

5. England's national sport is Cricket, rugby union, rugby league, netball, soccer, and hockey on the field.
