Welcome back to my blog, This is an SLJ Blog post!
Today's blog post is about explorers and setting sail.
Saying the word Explorer makes me think of The Movie Moana.
There was a guy named Nainoa Thompson.
He sailed the seas with his crew in two humungous canoes ( Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia )
Now imagine that Nainoa asked you to join the journey for 3 weeks and you said yes. You would need to survive
So today's activity is to think of 10 types of foods you would bring with you and why you want to bring it.
By the way, before we start I need to tell you that I'm doing this activity with my BFF Nevaeh.
Here is here Blog.
Nevaeh's Blog
1. Snacks and Chips - I have something to eat when I don't want a meal.
2. Water - I don't have to drink Seawater.
3. Fruits -To stay Healthy
4. Chocolate - So I can have more energy.
5. Sushi - I can have something to eat for dinner.
6. Nutella Sandwich - For breakfast
7. Brownies - Another sweet thing to eat when I'm low on energy.
8. Protein bars - To stay Healthy from all the other foods that I am bringing.
9. Pizza - You can eat it while it is cold.
I know I have to pack a food but for number 10 I'm bringing a Cooler.
I'm also gonna have ice packs as well.
Thank you for reading this Blog Post. I hope you enjoyed it.
The question for today is: If you could only bring one thing with you on a trip, what would you bring?
The challenge for today is: Tell me a fact about Nainoa Thompson.
I'll talk to you the next time I post.
Goodbye!
Mōrena Susie!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Mikey. I'm a part of the Summer Learning Journey team this year and I'll be commenting on some of your wonderful blog posts over the summer. Congratulations on completing your first activity - it looks amazing! :)
I really like the way you've presented this activity, Susie. It's easy to read and I like that you've included images for each of your choices. Adding a chilly bin and ice packs to your list is a very clever idea. In fact, you're the first person I've come across who has mentioned it - very original! :) Who would you take with you on your ocean voyage?
If I could only take one thing I think I'd have to choose fresh water. I'd hopefully be able to catch fish for my dinners but I think I'd struggle to find clean, fresh water on the journey. And my fact about Nainoa Thompson is that he was born on March 11th 1953. Do you have any facts to share with me?
Also, just a quick reminder to attribute the images you use if they aren't your own. This simply means mentioning where you got the images somewhere on your blog post.
Keep up the awesome blogging, Susie. I can't wait to read more posts from you soon.
Mā te wā,
Mikey :)
Hey Susie!
ReplyDeleteHow are you?
I've just been thinking about all of the great Summer Learning Journey blog posts I've been lucky enough to read over the last month and I remembered how much time and effort you put into your posts so I just wanted to pop back in and let you know how much I've enjoyed reading and looking at your work.
While I'm here I also wanted to tell you that there's just over a week left of the Summer Learning Journey programme and before it concludes next Friday (January 24th) I'd love to see some more posts from you. You started off really well, sharing some incredibly creative posts but I've noticed that you haven't been as active lately. If you can, I'd love you to jump back online and have a go at a few more activities. Remember, the more you complete, the more points you could earn! :)
Have a great afternoon, Susie. I really hope to see more posts from you soon.
Bye for now,
Mikey
