SLJ:Be A Good Ranger

Hi everyone and welcome back to another SLJ blog post.
Today I have to tell you if I want to be  DOC Ranger or not, so let's get started.

DOC stands for Department Of Conservation,

I have to tell you 3 pros ( good things ) and 3 cons ( bad things ) about why I don't or do and what I decided.

Pros:
1. You get to discover
new trees and animals

2. You get to learn about
surviving in nature.

3.  Some animals might be
friendly and kind.

Cons:
1. Some animals could bite you

2. You could get sick from stepping in poison ivy or something else.

3. You wouldn't have much food and you have to start eating something gross.

I would pick not to be a DOC Ranger, to be honest, I can't take care of myself yet and if I had to use a weapon, I would be really bad at it, mostly if I have to parkour up or down, I would be so scared so I don't think this job will be good would be good for me. But will you be a DOC Ranger or not, let me know in the comments and I'll see you next time, MERRY CHRISTMAS

  1. Hi Susie its Sophia your BFF,
Good job Susie, I really like how you said one of the cons where that you could get bitten by an animal. I for one said that as well check my blog out. Miss you.

  3. Kia ora Susie,

Thank you for sharing your honest opinion on whether you want to become a DOC ranger or not. I agree with you that it could be quite scary to try something new especially when it involves working with animals in the wild!

You will also have to travel to the islands far away from your friends and family which would be very sad. Do you remember the activity about WWF (World Wildlife Fund)? It shows us a selection of options we can take to save animals such as donating; it doesn't involve working outside and being open to possible danger. I'm sure the DOC rangers would have been well trained to do the job, so they would be experts at what they do!

I wouldn't mind jumping in for a new experience by becoming a DOC ranger because everything is scary at the start but we learn as we go. I am not too sure how long I could last after becoming homesick. What are your thoughts?

    Take care,
    Susie

    1. Hey Susie,

It would be great to have a friend come along with me! Usually I am not a firm believer of friends working together unless they share the same passion. Hopefully there would be someone out there who loves animals as much as I do!

      Susie
