SLJ:WWF( World Wildlife Fund )

Kia Ora everyone and welcome back my Blog and this is another SLJ blog post.
So today I'm going to tell you the difference between Asian and African Elephants. So Let's get started.

Bonus:
Elephants are strong but an ant is a little bit stronger because ants are flexible and powerful like an Elephant's trunk.

Fact 1:
African Elephants worth 8 or more pounds and Asian Elephants are smaller in size and their ears are straight at the bottom.
Here are some pictures.

Only some male Elephants in Asia have tusks and all African Elephants, including female Elephants, have tusks

Fact 4:
Asian Elephants have 4 back toes and 5 toes on their front feet, while African Elephants have 3 back toes and 5 toes on their front feet.

  1. Hi there Susie,

It is great to see that you have written down some facts about African elephants and Asian elephants. In fact, elephants are one of my favourite animals!

Did you have a look at the video cilps by clicking the hyperlink on our summer learning journey website? Your task for this activity was to choose either one of 'Freshwater Seals' or the 'Tigers' to answer the questions after watching the clips.

Please carefully read the question again for Day 3, Activity 3 in the link below to obtain the full points for this activity :)

p.s. thank you for sharing your facts about the elephants, they were super interesting!

  2. Hello again Susie,

I have just realised that you've been using the downloadable version of the SLJ program - therefore you did complete the correct activity! My apologies for the confusion.

You have done a great job paraphrasing the information about elephants. Paraphrasing means to put things into your own words with clarity. Did you enjoy learning new facts about elephants? What was the most surprising fact and why?

I want to share with you another interesting fact about elephants. Did you know that elephants can hear through their feet? They sense the underground vibrations through their feet and this is how they communicate!

Hope you're having fun blogging with us and I'll talk to ya soon :)
