Kia ora everyone, welcome back to my blog, and this is my brand new blog post.
Today my activity from the SLJ team is to tell you about my hometown with facts and describing words and this activity is worth 4 points, so let's see if you can guess where my hometown is, let's get started.
FACTS:
My hometown is mostly very rainy but sometimes sunny.
My hometown is known best for our beautiful gardens all around. My hometown was called the Garden City.
My hometown is the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand.
My hometown is has a Maori name, the Maori name in 1930 was Te Whenua O Te Potiki, but it got shortened to O Te Potiki Tautahi, then it got shortened further to Otautahi.
( I think that was a really big clue but it was a good fact )
Thanks for reading my blog post today. I know it was just facts and maybe no describing words but I hoped you liked it, don't forget to tell me in the comments what city do you think I'm from.
Have a good rest of your day and I'll see you on my next blog post, byeee
I am a student at in Uru MÄnuka. In 2020 I was a year 7 and in 2021 I will be a year 8. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Kia ora Susie,
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to see you getting into day 1 of the Summer Learning Journey! :)
I love how you used a slide in your first activity and even added in bonus facts, well done.
Christchurch can be a bit rainy sometimes however when the weather is good, its beautiful. What other places in New Zealand have you visited and which are your favourite?
In your next SLJ blog post, could you put all 3 of your daily activities in 1 post so we can comment on them all together?
Thanks Susie and great work :)
Thank you for the bonus points and if I do all three on one blog I might run out of space like last time and I loved visiting Invercargill,Wellington,Auckland,Queenstown and more but I can't remember them all.
ReplyDeleteHi Susie,
ReplyDeleteAh, that is a good point, thanks for reminding me that you could run out of space with all 3 activities in one blog!
Wow, it sounds like you have been all over the place in New Zealand, that is so cool. Which one was your favourite and why?
